Mobile Marketing and Home Business

How are you marketing your home business?  Many will begin their marketing efforts with starting a website or a blog.  Websites and blogs are a great way to get your business online.

Blogs and websites are fairly easy to create now with all the new software options.  A new website can be created online in just a few minutes.  You are really not limited when it comes to online marketing.

There is a new area of marketing for home business owners that they might not be paying attention to.  This new area is called mobile marketing.

Mobile marketing can include smarphones, tablet computers, and many other mobile devices.  What should a home business owner do about mobile marketing?

A regular website might be the starting point for a home business owner but now they need to consider something more.   Smartphones and tablet computers like the apple ipad have different screen settings than the computer screens for a home computer or laptop.

The question to ask is whether your home business website or blog is ready to handle traffic coming from mobile devices.  If you already have a home business website, you should stop what you are doing right now and find out the answer.

Are people able to view your website without a problem when surfing the web with a mobile device?  Getting people to come to your site is a difficult task and you don't want to miss out on prospects because your site is not optimized for mobile visitors.

If you don't have a smartphone or a tablet computer, you can find online simulators that will give you an idea of how your site looks to these different mobile devices.

Optimizing your site for mobile web traffic is just one part of mobile marketing.  Have you ever written a text message? Now there is a complete generation of internet users that love to communicate by using text messages.  This is an area that home business owners should learn more about.

Mobile devices are giving home business prospects access to the internet while they are walking around and moving from place to place.  Newer mobile devices can identify business that are in close proximity.  Mobile marketing is still new and more companies are trying to get ahead before everybody else catches on.
