Job Searching and Your Business

Lots of people are still looking for work in the regular old way of doing things.  What are some of the old ways of searching for work?  They are spending their time writing up resumes and trying to get the word out by networking.

The networking approach is always a good move. You might get an inside tip on people looking for new workers, but the game is already changing.

The process for getting a job is tough.  It is a wait and see approach.  Is there something more powerful about saying that you are not going to wait anymore?

Jumping into the business side of the game is a little bit different and people have a hard time seeing themselves there.  The fear of rejection and losing it all is probably in the back of the mind.

The funny thing is that people are getting a full daily dose of rejection everyday when they are looking for jobs.  They go into stores and ask for applications and those apps seem to end up going nowhere.

Job applicants submit countless resumes to different companies online, but they don't get the interviews or the interviews don't lead to anything concrete.  So there is a bunch of rejection already baked into the system.

Why does starting a business seem like it is so far out of reach when people have no problem moving through rejection to attempt to get a job?  Rejection is going to be there no matter what you do.

Taking a look at your skills and finding something that you can do in your own business is a big step.  What skills do you have that the market is ready to purchase?  People are so focused on the employee mindset that they can't see any business options or opportunities.

Is fear and rejection holding you back from moving forward with building an internet business?  Could you take the first step in the business world?  Could you just start with an affiliate marketing program?  Could you start by writing a simple book or creating a video?  Could you start with blogging and creating an adsense account?

Summer Reading - Game Based Marketing

Don't slow down during the summer months.  Keep your mind sharp by reading information that is related to your business.  I just finished a book called game based marketing.

The idea of games and business might not seem like they go together, but after you crack this book, you will see how games are being played all the time.

Some of your favorite things are using game mechanics.  You want to start thinking about how you could solve some of your current business problems with games.

Have you ever played a game?  Are you one of those people that buys video games?  There are lots of online gamers that are in the market.  You have to think about how this crowd will change the world of business as consumers and as workers.

Just a few words that will pop up include game mechanics, leaderboards, scoreboards, and frequent flyer programs.  The rewards and points programs are really interesting and if you pay attention online, you will find some sites that are using them well.

Web Development Niche Websites

Creating websites and blogs as a business is an online option.  What are the different parts of making websites online?

The domain name is going to be the first step.  How are people going to get to your site?  The web address domain name is the first thing that people are going to think about so you need to consider the domain name before you move forward with buying it.

The name of your website could be just about anything, but you have to make sure that it is easy to remember.  Some people in the business of developing websites are not thinking about the long term.  They create websites with the idea of turning around and selling it to buyers that want a ready made website.  The name of a site should still be a topic that is considered.

The web is the information super warehouse and new info is constantly coming online.  The web allows for people to get as broad or as deep as they want to go.  Enter the world of niche website development.  Topics can be general and bland or they can be very detailed and specific.

Niche website development could be explained really easily.  You could take a big topic like real estate and develop a general website, but real estate is a really big subject.  How many different types of real estate can you think about right now?  Most people might only think about commercial real estate and residential real estate, but there are lots of other sub categories that could be explored.  Just for example, you could create real estate sites by city, state, or country.  You could also break down the different types of real estate.  There are apartment complex real estate sites, single family real estate sites, and foreclosure real estate sites.  There are a lot of different niches that could be explored when it comes to web development and site setup for sale online.

The other factor in creating web real estate is content and design.  You might have noticed that some websites online that are for sale don't really have real content.  They might just have some placeholder text that gives the potential buyer a feel for what is possible.  This is just like the fake model home pictures and furniture that you see when you walk through the model homes.

Some online biz owners might want to get into the web development game, but they don't care to learn all the tech details.  There is another way floating around online to get this done.  The big word is called outsourcing.  There are lots of people on the web that have development skills and savvy online business people act as the grease to get deals done.  Could you find people that want to get websites completed?  Could you line up service providers to get those websites online for hungry buyers looking for great websites?

Building online properties is getting easier and faster with the better online tools.  There are individuals and organizations that want a good looking web presence, but they don't have the skills or the knowledge about where to get the end product.

Selling websites might not be the idea that you have in your own mind.  Some online biz owners want to create sites to keep for income.  Sometimes the little websites become big websites over time.  Think about the many different ways that a site could earn income.  Good content could lead to ad revenue and list building.  This could lead to even more options for building online income.

Internet Blogging Add Pictures

Adding flavor to your internet blogging is super simple.  The blog can quickly fill up with lots of text, but people on your site might want to get a little bit of a visual display to help make an impact.

Taking your blog from just a mountain of text to a site that has images and maybe even video is not hard to accomplish.  Taking pictures for your blog is easy. Just start using your smartphone or a low cost digital camera to start taking photos.

Uploading photos to your blog should be really a simple task.  Load up your sd card with lots of good pics that you can use on your blog.  Taking snapshots is easy and you can even take a few lessons online to learn how to take better pictures.  Think bigger when it comes to the photos that you take.  You might have more than just one blog, you may want to use those photos is different sites online.

You can tell a story with a photo.  The quick images that you take with your smartphone or your cheap digital camera could have some other uses as well.

Your blog could be the launching pad for other content formats.  You might use some of those easy pics that you created for ebooks that you create.  Think about pulling together some of your good blog content and creating free ebooks with images embedded.  This could be a lead generation email list signup tool.

Don't stop with just making ebooks.  The photos that you create could also help with creating videos.  Screen recordings with photo presentations might be another good use for your photos.

Hunting for Income Online

The hunt for online income is a constant battle that does not go away.  There is plenty of information on the web that talks about money and how to get it.

It is supply and demand.  It is a-b.  It is revenue minus expenses.  People are looking for work and you hear the same story over and over again.  People are picking up education and degrees, but they are still having a hard time trying to find work.

The online business world is filled with people looking to turn their skills into funds that can pay the bills.  Finding the solution to the problem of getting income from home seems like it is just too hard to complete.

Doing the same tasks over and over again using the old methods can lead to frustration.  The work that could be performed a few years ago has been replaced with technology or the business is just to hard to make work.

Keeping a positive outlook can be hard when the things are not going in your favor.  Giving up is not an option.  The hunt for more bread may lead to more creativity in search of the online cash.

Giving up too early

Creating your own projects and starting your own business on the internet means stepping up and trying something new.  Reading books about building a business gives you the ideas, but you still have to take the next step which is really important and that is action.

What is holding people back from taking action in their business?  Fear and failure are two words that pop up.  The idea of picking up the phone and talking to someone or writing an email searching for new business seems like a hurdle that people don't want to jump.  Why is failure such of a big fear?

Some people make the decision that they are going to do something different and they put the fear to the side.  They push forward and go after the things that they want in life.

Being disappointed and not immediately experiencing success is a big idea floating around in the minds.  Failure is experienced all the time in daily life, but in some cases, it just seems like it matters more.

You go to the store searching for something that you really want like cookies.  The first store that you visit doesn't have the kind of cookies that you want.  Are you broken up about it?  Do you break down because they don't have them?  No.  You know that there are other stores that you can visit.  You keep on the road to your desired result of getting the cookies that you desire.

Why is it any different in business or anything else?  You want to start your own internet business and you get some rejection and failure.  You can stick with it and get your cookies or you can deny yourself the chance to have those tasty cookies by giving up too early.

Programming - Get Started with the Basics Online

Learn the basics of computer programming online.  The idea of getting into programming might seem like a really high bar to cross.  The internet makes it easy to get access to all kinds of information and computer coding is available on the web.

One of the sites that I like is called code academy.  You can sign up for free and within a few minutes, you can be on your road to learning how to code.  The interactive training is simple to follow.

Learning how to code opens the door to more online opportunities.  Are you familiar with terms like php, phython or ruby?  These are just a few of the topics that you can learn on the site.

You might try a computer programming class, but you find that you really don't enjoy it.  This is still okay, because you are picking up a new skill and it might have other benefits.

Learning how to code is a basic training in how to solve problems.  It will require thinking in different ways and overcoming obstacles.  You will learn to pay attention to detail.  Coding syntax that contains errors will not run properly.  Coding software is all about rules.

The web is filled with all kinds of content.  You don't even have to stop with just the programming tutorial sites.  You could use youtube to type in some of the popular coding languages and find plenty of videos that walk you through different levels of coding.

Affiliate Article Writing - Dropping Old Marketing Methods

The first steps in affiliate marketing is going after the programs.  Getting those affiliate marketing links is just like the easiest thing to do in the world.  A person could get those links and then start coming up with the exciting ways of turning those funny looking urls into what they really want which is the cold cash.  This is where everybody starts out when they hear about the affiliate marketing game.

The rude awakening starts to become clearer after the new affiliate starts posting those links online.  Maybe the affiliate thought that it would be really easy money just from starting a quick blog and posting up links.  One of the big issues is that the links need to be for the right people that want to buy.

People could see your offer all day long, but if it is not something that they want, they will just click away or totally ignore the offer.  The internet affiliate game is on the lookout for the best ways to earn the money.  The blog is a simple way to get web development done, but now everybody is doing it.  Slapping up some affiliate banners in the side bar is not getting it anymore. Everybody is hip to the online marketing game these days.  What are the new ways?  How are people even using the internet these days?

Are you buying lots of stuff with your smartphone or cellphone?  Are you just searching for information on the web before making purchases?  Some people are still going about the affiliate marketing business the old way.  They are not thinking about all the changes going on with tech and mobile.

Are you on the hunt for views?  Some might only be thinking about views in terms of articles that are posted online, but they may be missing the bigger picture.  Mobile and video is the online game changer.  The ugly affiliate link can be turned into something that is easy to remember.  The long content sitting on a blog does not have to be the end of the marketing road.  It is time to dust off that content and bring it into the new areas of online digital marketing.

Are you setting your goals too low?

Are you really doing enough?  Can you do more to improve your business and really push it to the max?

The book below talks about your expectations.  Are you settling for less?  Are you willing to blow past the norms?

Just take a look at this book and the other books that are in the series.

The 10X Rule: The Only Difference Between Success and Failure

Writing Content Tips - NO More Boring Articles?

Writing content for the online world does not have to stop with just plain and basic articles.  One of the problems with some of the articles that you write is that they will run out of steam over time.  Topics change and there are new advances, but with some types of articles, you don't have to worry about it.

What about taking your content in another direction totally?  What about writing articles as stories?  What about creating content that is going to be timeless?

The concept is not that new.  Instead of writing a boring articles about business, could you turn it into a story and have a real message?  Instead of talking about writing content, you could use your imagination to come up with interesting articles that don't have an expiration date on them.

What are some themes that are evergreen in your area?  Some topics don't go away and you already know them.  What are some topics?  Do you think people will want to earn money in the future?  Do you think they will want to know about relationships?  What about tying some of those themes into the content that you create?

Create some characters.  Create some plots.  Give it a try.  You remember those creative writing classes from the past.  Now it is time to go for it online.  You might even want to create your own ebooks and post them up on amazon and other online book sites.  You may have just walked into another potential income stream.

Online Biz Tips - Content Internet Business

What comes to mind when you are thinking about internet marketing?  Can you see the customers and clients that are on the other end of the web?  The next time that you are around in public take a look at what people are doing on the web.  People are constantly connected to the web these days.  They love the internet so much that some people can't even get off the web while they are driving their cars.  The internet is the place that people want to be.

Some people are using the web for just the fun of it.  They can spend hours online, playing games, doing online social media status updates, watching videos and much more.  Other people are not looking at the web as a place for playing around, they are looking at it specifically for making money.  There is plenty of business on the internet.

The web is constantly on and it is a great way to share information about products and services.  Sales can happen at any time on the internet.  It could be in the early morning hours of the day or late at night.  People can shop on the web when they please.   Sharing information and the limitless space on the web means that people have lots of choices.  All those products and services are competing for time and attention.  Enter the world of digital marketing.  Business transactions happen all the time in the real world, and
digital marketing is a source for business online.

How are people finding what they are looking for on the internet?  They are searching with the search engines.  People use to pull up the webpages of these search engines to get links to other sites.  The whole process of typing in keywords for search engines and getting good results is starting to change.  The tech advances are making it easier to get the results that people are looking for.  People can talk into their smartphones and get the results.  This is a big improvement over searching through pages and pages of website links.

Businesses are on the hunt for more clients online and they want to use different methods that are effective.  Content is one of the old school ways that businesses keep on going after consumers.  One of the ways is to use evergreen articles.  Posting articles online that don't have an expiration date that will always be relevant is one of the options.  They call these types of articles evergreen articles.

Creating content means sitting down and writing on a computer.  This is a time filling form of work.  Everybody doesn't want to do the hard task of writing articles.  There is a need for writing articles for online sites.  Sites are easy to make, but they need to have new content to stay fresh and updated.

Getting content created for sites is a short term and long term lead generation business plan.  Some people make a business out of writing for money while others write articles for their own online sites.

Content doesn't go away.  You can think about a library that is filled up with books.  There is plenty of information contained in books and online writing.  Sometimes content can be changed into different forms to become more effective.  Writing content in a blog post format might have a different impact than writing articles for pdfs.

The constant quest for more content can be helped by using plr articles.  Online businesses that run websites might run into a situation where they run out of article ideas.  Private label rights content can be the spark to come up with other articles that can be used to help generate new leads.

Social Media and Content - What is your article writing process?

Write quick articles and post them online.  Just start with a small little list of keywords and then see where the content takes you.   You might come up with a list that has social media in it.  You could have the tv on in the background, but the words are pouring on to the page without much of a problem.  What pops into your head when you think about social media?  The word twitter comes into your mind and instantly you think about all the stuff related to twitter.

It is like getting the green light when you are at a traffic stop and you don't know where the road is going to take you.  Social media twitter comes into your mind and you think about the bird.  You think about the different twitter apps that they use to have that are now gone.  You think about pulling up twitter pages for quick information about what is going on.  Everybody uses twitter, don't they?  When stuff is happening in the news, twitter is a quick way to get it.  It is also a good place to follow links to information ( think social media web traffic ).  You also think about images and hashtags when you think about social media.  What else comes to mind when it comes to business?  You think about trying to come up with a twitter account name and somebody else has already taken it.  What really gets your goat is that the people that registered the account don't even use it.  That sucks.  Twitter is a great way to keep up with what is going on in your industry.  You can usually find twitter accounts on blogs.  Are you using social media accounts like twitter for your business?

Social media like a power booster for content marketing.  Those articles that you write for your blog might be sitting on your site getting completely ignored, but it is really easy to create a twitter post with a link to it.  Hashtagging it and putting an image is another chance to chase the traffic.  Twitter is a place where you can create a hashtag and start something new.  Each new tweet is a chance to go viral.

The social media networks are great for connecting.  Where do you want to go for instant responses?  Just think about tv shows for a minute.  There are people that are watching tv and at the same time, they are updating their twitter streams with content.  Checking the trending topics is a part of the social media game.

Are you using social media outside of your business? Are you learning something while you are playing around online?  Did you try to do the whole social media thing, but you never really got a hold of it?
