Job Searching and Your Business

Lots of people are still looking for work in the regular old way of doing things.  What are some of the old ways of searching for work?  They are spending their time writing up resumes and trying to get the word out by networking.

The networking approach is always a good move. You might get an inside tip on people looking for new workers, but the game is already changing.

The process for getting a job is tough.  It is a wait and see approach.  Is there something more powerful about saying that you are not going to wait anymore?

Jumping into the business side of the game is a little bit different and people have a hard time seeing themselves there.  The fear of rejection and losing it all is probably in the back of the mind.

The funny thing is that people are getting a full daily dose of rejection everyday when they are looking for jobs.  They go into stores and ask for applications and those apps seem to end up going nowhere.

Job applicants submit countless resumes to different companies online, but they don't get the interviews or the interviews don't lead to anything concrete.  So there is a bunch of rejection already baked into the system.

Why does starting a business seem like it is so far out of reach when people have no problem moving through rejection to attempt to get a job?  Rejection is going to be there no matter what you do.

Taking a look at your skills and finding something that you can do in your own business is a big step.  What skills do you have that the market is ready to purchase?  People are so focused on the employee mindset that they can't see any business options or opportunities.

Is fear and rejection holding you back from moving forward with building an internet business?  Could you take the first step in the business world?  Could you just start with an affiliate marketing program?  Could you start by writing a simple book or creating a video?  Could you start with blogging and creating an adsense account?

Summer Reading - Game Based Marketing

Don't slow down during the summer months.  Keep your mind sharp by reading information that is related to your business.  I just finished a book called game based marketing.

The idea of games and business might not seem like they go together, but after you crack this book, you will see how games are being played all the time.

Some of your favorite things are using game mechanics.  You want to start thinking about how you could solve some of your current business problems with games.

Have you ever played a game?  Are you one of those people that buys video games?  There are lots of online gamers that are in the market.  You have to think about how this crowd will change the world of business as consumers and as workers.

Just a few words that will pop up include game mechanics, leaderboards, scoreboards, and frequent flyer programs.  The rewards and points programs are really interesting and if you pay attention online, you will find some sites that are using them well.

Web Development Niche Websites

Creating websites and blogs as a business is an online option.  What are the different parts of making websites online?

The domain name is going to be the first step.  How are people going to get to your site?  The web address domain name is the first thing that people are going to think about so you need to consider the domain name before you move forward with buying it.

The name of your website could be just about anything, but you have to make sure that it is easy to remember.  Some people in the business of developing websites are not thinking about the long term.  They create websites with the idea of turning around and selling it to buyers that want a ready made website.  The name of a site should still be a topic that is considered.

The web is the information super warehouse and new info is constantly coming online.  The web allows for people to get as broad or as deep as they want to go.  Enter the world of niche website development.  Topics can be general and bland or they can be very detailed and specific.

Niche website development could be explained really easily.  You could take a big topic like real estate and develop a general website, but real estate is a really big subject.  How many different types of real estate can you think about right now?  Most people might only think about commercial real estate and residential real estate, but there are lots of other sub categories that could be explored.  Just for example, you could create real estate sites by city, state, or country.  You could also break down the different types of real estate.  There are apartment complex real estate sites, single family real estate sites, and foreclosure real estate sites.  There are a lot of different niches that could be explored when it comes to web development and site setup for sale online.

The other factor in creating web real estate is content and design.  You might have noticed that some websites online that are for sale don't really have real content.  They might just have some placeholder text that gives the potential buyer a feel for what is possible.  This is just like the fake model home pictures and furniture that you see when you walk through the model homes.

Some online biz owners might want to get into the web development game, but they don't care to learn all the tech details.  There is another way floating around online to get this done.  The big word is called outsourcing.  There are lots of people on the web that have development skills and savvy online business people act as the grease to get deals done.  Could you find people that want to get websites completed?  Could you line up service providers to get those websites online for hungry buyers looking for great websites?

Building online properties is getting easier and faster with the better online tools.  There are individuals and organizations that want a good looking web presence, but they don't have the skills or the knowledge about where to get the end product.

Selling websites might not be the idea that you have in your own mind.  Some online biz owners want to create sites to keep for income.  Sometimes the little websites become big websites over time.  Think about the many different ways that a site could earn income.  Good content could lead to ad revenue and list building.  This could lead to even more options for building online income.

Internet Blogging Add Pictures

Adding flavor to your internet blogging is super simple.  The blog can quickly fill up with lots of text, but people on your site might want to get a little bit of a visual display to help make an impact.

Taking your blog from just a mountain of text to a site that has images and maybe even video is not hard to accomplish.  Taking pictures for your blog is easy. Just start using your smartphone or a low cost digital camera to start taking photos.

Uploading photos to your blog should be really a simple task.  Load up your sd card with lots of good pics that you can use on your blog.  Taking snapshots is easy and you can even take a few lessons online to learn how to take better pictures.  Think bigger when it comes to the photos that you take.  You might have more than just one blog, you may want to use those photos is different sites online.

You can tell a story with a photo.  The quick images that you take with your smartphone or your cheap digital camera could have some other uses as well.

Your blog could be the launching pad for other content formats.  You might use some of those easy pics that you created for ebooks that you create.  Think about pulling together some of your good blog content and creating free ebooks with images embedded.  This could be a lead generation email list signup tool.

Don't stop with just making ebooks.  The photos that you create could also help with creating videos.  Screen recordings with photo presentations might be another good use for your photos.

Hunting for Income Online

The hunt for online income is a constant battle that does not go away.  There is plenty of information on the web that talks about money and how to get it.

It is supply and demand.  It is a-b.  It is revenue minus expenses.  People are looking for work and you hear the same story over and over again.  People are picking up education and degrees, but they are still having a hard time trying to find work.

The online business world is filled with people looking to turn their skills into funds that can pay the bills.  Finding the solution to the problem of getting income from home seems like it is just too hard to complete.

Doing the same tasks over and over again using the old methods can lead to frustration.  The work that could be performed a few years ago has been replaced with technology or the business is just to hard to make work.

Keeping a positive outlook can be hard when the things are not going in your favor.  Giving up is not an option.  The hunt for more bread may lead to more creativity in search of the online cash.

Giving up too early

Creating your own projects and starting your own business on the internet means stepping up and trying something new.  Reading books about building a business gives you the ideas, but you still have to take the next step which is really important and that is action.

What is holding people back from taking action in their business?  Fear and failure are two words that pop up.  The idea of picking up the phone and talking to someone or writing an email searching for new business seems like a hurdle that people don't want to jump.  Why is failure such of a big fear?

Some people make the decision that they are going to do something different and they put the fear to the side.  They push forward and go after the things that they want in life.

Being disappointed and not immediately experiencing success is a big idea floating around in the minds.  Failure is experienced all the time in daily life, but in some cases, it just seems like it matters more.

You go to the store searching for something that you really want like cookies.  The first store that you visit doesn't have the kind of cookies that you want.  Are you broken up about it?  Do you break down because they don't have them?  No.  You know that there are other stores that you can visit.  You keep on the road to your desired result of getting the cookies that you desire.

Why is it any different in business or anything else?  You want to start your own internet business and you get some rejection and failure.  You can stick with it and get your cookies or you can deny yourself the chance to have those tasty cookies by giving up too early.

Programming - Get Started with the Basics Online

Learn the basics of computer programming online.  The idea of getting into programming might seem like a really high bar to cross.  The internet makes it easy to get access to all kinds of information and computer coding is available on the web.

One of the sites that I like is called code academy.  You can sign up for free and within a few minutes, you can be on your road to learning how to code.  The interactive training is simple to follow.

Learning how to code opens the door to more online opportunities.  Are you familiar with terms like php, phython or ruby?  These are just a few of the topics that you can learn on the site.

You might try a computer programming class, but you find that you really don't enjoy it.  This is still okay, because you are picking up a new skill and it might have other benefits.

Learning how to code is a basic training in how to solve problems.  It will require thinking in different ways and overcoming obstacles.  You will learn to pay attention to detail.  Coding syntax that contains errors will not run properly.  Coding software is all about rules.

The web is filled with all kinds of content.  You don't even have to stop with just the programming tutorial sites.  You could use youtube to type in some of the popular coding languages and find plenty of videos that walk you through different levels of coding.
