Watching Videos to Learn more about business

Don't forget to use your social media for your business.  I just finished watching a video from the affiliate summit.  The affiliate summit is one of the conventions that discuss anything and everything regarding internet marketing and affiliate marketing.

The video was from one of the past affiliate summit events that is held in Las Vegas every year at the beginning of the year.  The topic of social media is not getting old.

You are probably already using the free blogging platforms to create content, but the video was talking about how to stretch your marketing efforts even farther by using social media.

Connecting your blog to your social media accounts could be helpful.  There are online tools that you can use to help get this done.  Let's say that you post up some new content on your blog and a plugin can immediately post a status update in your social media accounts.  This is great.  You do the work one time and it help get spread to your social network accounts.

The video talked about competition. If you are using social media, but your competition is not, you are ahead of the game.  You have one more channel to share information while the other people are lagging behind.  Getting the head start and building up momentum is part of the game.

New social networks pop up and there will be a learning curve.  The people that get in first and get to look around and test things will have a big advantage.  One point that popped in the video also is change.  Myspace was still big at the time that the video was created, but facebook was really starting to take off.  What can you learn from this?  There are always going to be changes in the top sites online.  Facebook is hot right now, but there could be other new players that are just starting up.

If you are blogging already, start adding social status updates to your plans.  Social media might be one other location to drive traffic and to help build up your newsletters and email subscriptions.
