Home Business Systems

There are different ways of getting things done.  You can do them the haphazard way ( without a plan ) or with a plan.

Creating a system

How do you lower the chances of missing a step in getting a task accomplished?  You write down all the steps and you do them one by one.
Know what you want to take place.  Come  up with all the steps that get to the desired result and then do them.

This is really helpful.  You can establish a process and the work can get done with different people.

Requirements

You want a system or a process.  What do you want it to do?  You want to get more clients?  You want to get more prospects?  How are you currently getting them?  Where are they coming from?  Start taking notes of the things that you are doing and keep track of the results.  Do more of what works and less of what doesn't.

Design

Once you know what you want, you can start coming up with a design to get there.  If you want more clients, you might need to make more calls.  If you want more sales, you need more prospects.  Come up with the design ( plan ) for making this come true.

Implementation

You have a design ( plan ).  It could be sitting right on your desk or sitting on the shelf.  It does no good there.  You have to put the plans ( designs ) into action. It might take some time to learn the new way of doing things.  There might be some bumps in the road.  Move forward and take action on the new plans.

Testing

Plans and designs might seem flawless when they are drawn up, but the implementation ( action phase ) will reveal the problems.  It happens all the time with new rollouts of products.  Something does not work properly.  A step is missed.  The plan does not work as initially conceived.  The initial action plan could be considered a test run.  A way to start getting the problems out of the system.  It is just like the warm ups before a basketball game.  It is like the scrimmage games in football.  These are the warm up games before the regular season starts.

The system is now in operation.  You have a new way of doing things and you have started to make corrections on the items that went wrong.  The process starts over and over again with a new cycle of requirements and actions.
